Hmwk: Review the vocabulary and grammar from units 5, 6, 7, & 8. We will begin the SMRT test right at 9:00. So be a little early and have your laptop ready. If you know your laptop has problems, come early so you can borrow one from the office. The test is not graded, so it won't change your class grade on engrade, but you can see your score there. The score will tell us more about your level.

Hmwk: Finish your unit 8 paragraph. See my example. You need to have Ideas, 3 vocab words, and 3 simple, compound, or complex sentences. You should have at least 6 sentences total. Share with me when you finish.

Hmwk: Record your Speaking Assignment video on SMRT. Go to ME. Choose Speaking to see the questions. Follow the directions to record your video and submit it on SMRT. If you have problems, I will listen to your speaking in the hallway.

Hmwk: Review for the Quiz on Monday. You will have 45 minutes, and it is worth 25 points.

Part A: Rewrite the sentence using the present perfect (simple or continuous). Keep the same meaning. (5 points)

Part B: Write past simple or present perfect simple sentences depending on the time expression.(5 points)
Part C: Use the present perfect simple with put or take to explain the location of the objects. (5 points)
Part D: Circle the best vocabulary word for each sentence. (5 points)
Part E: Listening & Spelling. Write the sentence that you hear. Spell the vocab word correctly. (3 points)
Part F: Speaking. Read the sentence with the vocabulary word correctly.

Hmwk: Finish your Essay. It is worth 15 points! 5 points for your outline. 5 points for 3 paragraphs. 5 points for 3 vocabulary words. See my example. Share with me when you finish. We will read our essays to a partner tomorrow.

Part B: Circle the best vocab word for the sentence. (5 points)
Part C: Listening & Spelling. Write the sentence that you hear. Spell the vocab word correctly. (3 points)
Part D: Speaking. Read the sentence with the vocabulary word correctly. (2 points)

Remember, no school on Monday for Presidents' Day! Enjoy the long weekend. Conferences will be on Tuesday during the quiz.
