Homework: Complete Vocab Exercise 1, review the Grammar 5-1 video, and watch the Grammar 5-2 video. We will talk about this Grammar in class tomorrow.

Homework: Review Units 1-4 vocabulary and grammar for the SMRT Test on Monday. We will start right at 9:00AM, so be on time! The test will last until 10:30. If you miss the test, you cannot move to the next level until the end of the term.
The test has four sections:
- Listening (12 minutes)
- Grammar (25 minutes)
- Reading (25 minutes)
- Writing (25 minutes)
The test will be worth 100 points, but it is not graded. This is a level test like the TOEFL exam, so it will tell us information about your progress in your English skills, but it won't affect your overall class grade.

Homework: Finish your paragraph. Remember to include 3 vocab words and 3 modal verbs. It has to have at least 6 sentences, including a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.
See my example if you have questions. We will read our paragraphs in class tomorrow morning.

Speaking Assignment Directions
Try to record your speaking video. Remember to choose "Upload" after you stop recording! Use the directions on the second page to upload your viedo on SMRT.
If your computer doesn't record, come to class early tomorrow to try recording on a chromebook.

If you cannot record your video on YouTube, practice speaking your answers. I will ask you the questions in person on Friday.

  Part A: Find sentence mistakes with present simple & continuous verbs. (5 points)
  Part B: Decide if a highlighted verb is a state or dynamic verb, then make a present simple sentence if it is               a state verb or a present continuous sentence if it is a dynamic verb. (10 points)
  Part C: Choose the best vocab word for the sentence. (5 points)
  Part E: Listen and write the sentence with correct spelling. (3 points)
  Part F: Read the sentence with correct pronunciation. (2 points)
